Thomas is highly specialized within taxation of real estate and advises major property owners in Denmark on property tax, including Danish and international tax law, restructuring, group taxation and tax consolidation and formation of holding companies.

Thomas often conducts litigation within tax law before the ordinary courts and the administrative authorities, including the National Tax Tribunal. Among other things, Thomas has conducted several leading cases concerning property taxation, just as Thomas is the preferred advisor of Danish municipalities in matters of property taxation.

Thomas is also a member of the newly-established expert group on the value assessment of commercial building plots, whose task is to advise the legislator on the value assessment of future property taxation.

In 2019, Thomas defended a PhD thesis on property taxation in Denmark. Today, the dissertation is still the only summary legal work on property taxation in Denmark. Besides the PhD thesis, Thomas is the author of more than 20 articles on separate tax matters published in the most recognized national and international journals.
