Norman is the Head of Tax at Andersen in South Africa. He specialises in International Tax, Cross-border M&A Tax and Exchange Control.

Norman’s experience includes providing clients with tax advice on setting up operations, corporate restructuring, mergers and acquisitions, financing transactions (including listing) as well as South African broad-based black economic empowerment transactions. Norman was previously an international tax partner/director at two of the big 4 accounting firms based, over the years, in Johannesburg, London and New York. He also previously worked as an auditor at the South African Revenue Service.

Norman has, over more than 15 years, advised South African and foreign multinational clients across various industries, including telecommunications, mining and energy, financial services, entertainment, freight and logistics, technology and retail. He has extensive experience on advising clients with international tax issues such as permanent establishments, withholding taxes, foreign tax credits, double tax agreements, controlled foreign company rules and cross-border value added tax.
