Cooper Parry - Mergers & Acquisitions
Helen is a senior VAT manager in Cooper Parry’s VAT and Indirect Taxes consulting team. Helen’s also an expert in stamp taxes, providing a holistic indirect tax service to her clients.
She joined Cooper Parry in 2019, having previously started out her career as a tax solicitor in a global law firm, before moving to spend six years in the Big4. Helen’s a Chartered Tax Advisor with the Chartered Institute of Taxation and remains a fully qualified (non-practising) tax solicitor.
Helen takes a client-centric approach. Aiming to make VAT as easily digestible and understandable to her clients as possible. This is despite the world of VAT being so fiendishly complex and sometimes so absurd that it was once described by an eminent judge as “a kind of fiscal theme park”.
She prides herself on an eye for detail, and loves nothing more than a good, technical conundrum. Giving an excuse to get the legislation out and pore through the rules to leave no stone unturned.
Whilst she has experience across a broad range of businesses and sectors, Helen has a particular interest in the property, not for profit and education sectors. She’s leaned towards clients in these industries for most of her career.
Helen enjoys delivering training and workshops to her clients. Regularly taking the opportunity to get in front of businesses to shares her wisdom on the latest developments, risks or points of interest.
