EY has been actively engaged in the work of the Foreign Investors’ Council (FIC), which is chaired by the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Erlan Dosymbekov, EY’s Managing Partner in Kazakhstan, chairs the FIC association’s (KFICA) Governing Board and the Board of the European Business Association. He also co-chairs the Council’s Investment Policy Working Group that, among other things, specifically focuses on tax policy and administration. At EY, he oversees projects to improve the institutional environment, infrastructure, decarbonization and clean technologies, and tax and customs administration. Erlan speaks at meetings of the CIS Energy Working Group for oil and gas companies and their subcontractors in Houston, USA. As a member of the AmCham Investment Climate Improvement Council chaired by the Prime Minister, he regularly speaks on issues of investment attractiveness in Kazakhstan. Erlan was awarded the Presidential Order of Honor, the foremost civilian decoration, for his substantial contribution to the economic development and investment growth in Kazakhstan. As an example of our contribution to the enhancement of the business environment, we have supported the country in its transition to IFRS since early 2000, as well as in developing the knowledge of those working in accounting and finance. We continue to contribute to the implementation of IFRS by hosting annual IFRS update sessions for the accounting and finance departments of both national companies and stateowned organizations.
